The Xul Foundation participates in “EYES: Entrecomp to create Youth Employability and Social values“. A project within the Erasmus-YOUTH-2021-CB program based on a series of considerations related to the challenges that youth and society, in general, had to face during the crisis created by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and the perspective of working together for reconstruction and a new start. The idea of the project stems from even more deep-rooted challenges that exist in the interrelationships that exist between Euro-Mediterranean countries and the young people living in them, wanting to exchange and provide new tools to work on the development of each local society, contributing to avoid massive and uncontrolled migratory phenomena, brain drain, unemployment, and social exclusion.
The project aims to provide young people in the Euro-Mediterranean area with in-depth knowledge and a set of skills, based on the Entrecomp model, to create, manage and run successful social enterprises, thus contributing to social cohesion and the inclusive growth of their societies, and to find employability alternatives for themselves and their peers, especially for disadvantaged groups.
Thus, among the actions to be developed during the 24-month project are the following:
- Mapping needs, ideas, tools, and good practices related to social entrepreneurship in Mediterranean and EU countries.
- Developing educational models to provide the necessary skills and knowledge for young people to develop social enterprises, and for youth workers to act as multipliers.
- Support the creation of local and online cross-sectoral networks working to support the creation of new enterprises with social impact.
- Strengthen Euro-Mediterranean cooperation to respond to common youth challenges (unemployment, migration, and postcode).
Also, during these months, Xul Foundation together with the rest of the project partners; Associazione TDM 2000 (Italy), IED (Greece), SEEDS (Jordan), Have a Dream (Egypt) and LST (Tunisia), will hold several international meetings to monitor the project and see the results obtained.
To carry out this project, it will be necessary the participation of young people in general, young entrepreneurs, institutional political agents, and youth workers who will benefit from the tools that will be developed, they will also be able to attend different training courses, both face-to-face and virtual, and will have access to the manual of good practices that will be developed around the creation of social enterprises. In addition, two working groups composed of four people will be created (a young person, an entrepreneur, a youth worker, and a policy maker). Two of them will have the opportunity to attend an all-expenses-paid seminar in Egypt to put into practice the work done so far.
La finalización de EYES está prevista para febrero de 2024.
