Project Description

EC(h)O-CULTURES (from now on ECHOCULT) lays its roots in the strong need felt by the project partners to play an active role in engaging local communities into the fight against climate change; by tackling the issue with informal and non-formal initiatives, the project aims at having an Echo and reverb effect at grassroots level by engaging children, young adults and adults in three cities (and surroundings) (Vicenza -IT, Cordoba -ES and Brussels -BE), while gathering policy suggestions for the future of Europe with a transnational approach. The final aim is contributing to the creation of eco-sustainable cultures. In order to build a future that is different and divergent from the socio-economic model based on limitless exploitation of the ecosystem (including human beings) and endless growth, it is necessary to create contexts for experimentation, thought and design where a different (eco)culture can flourish with respect to relations between people and with the animal and natural world.

The project is therefore responding to the following general objectives:

  1.  first level: citizens, i.e. children, young adults and adults.

General Objectives: awareness raising on the topic, training and echo-effect, bottom-up policy making approach, gathering opinions of citizens.

  1.  Second level: policy makers and local stakeholders.

General Objectives: advocacy and bottom-up policy making – delivery of results and follow up/impact.

ECHOCULT relies on the echo-effect of citizens and stakeholders involved in the project activities, may them be online or offline, with a spillover dissemination of a new Green Culture.
